Monk Gibbon letter to Ellis Roberts and printed ballad, 1930-1934.

The collection consists of two items: printed poem by Monk Gibbon titled A Ballad, no. 71 of 500 copied printed in France by Ducros & Colas, Paris, for the Grayhound Press, Oct. 1930, with hand-colored illustrations, issued in envelope, inscribed by author; also, letter to Ellis Roberts, 3 Jan. 1934, about his Austrian surroundings with questions and commentary about the poem The Cynic, which he had expected to be published in the current issue of Life & Letters; accompanied by a recently composed sonnet on a separate sheet of paper, on the theme of escape.
